Demonstrators
AFFIX is a case-study driven project. The end-users have submitted real industrial problems, whose main features have been abstracted to form the basis of the laboratory demonstrators. Once these proof-of-concept demonstrators have been developed, it will be possible to feed the results back to the end-user companies to implement in their assembly processes. The three main demonstrators areas are:
- Flexible part-to-part alignment, concentrating on concentric parts
- Handling and fixing parts in closed spaces
- Modelling benchtest demonstrator to validate simulations of both part and fixture behaviour during grinding, welding and milling operations
