Advanced Manufacturing Forum October 2008
This is a series of quarterly seminars planned by AMRC and hosted at the Factory of the Future and targeted at manufacturing businesses. Membership is now over 100 companies across the UK. A seminar on Aerospace Engineering and assembly was held on 6 October with 50 attendees
IRICA 2008 Wuhan, China, October 2008
An AFFIX assembly session was organised by Jurgen Leopold of IWU. Presentations were made by IWU, USFD, HV and WZL. The award for the best conference best paper was awarded to IWU for their overview of assembly technologies.
Metris Open Day, August 2008
This seminar, held at the University of Sheffield, focused on iGPS and laser measurement and showed the various tools available for high productivity measurement of components, previously impossible with manual systems. iGPS is a large scale metrology system used for tracking multiple large objects during the assembly and manufacturing process. There were 60 attendees
Forging Links - Stuttgart, June 2008
This event was organized by four European projects (MASMICRO, XPRESS, AFFIX, EUPASS), which are under the funding scheme of the 6th Framework program. All are working on topics related to manufacturing. The event was focussed on discussion and a brokerage for future activities necessary to support the above mentioned area of production technology.
Congresso Utensili - November 2007
There were 350 attendees from European fixturing, cutting tools and machine tool industries. AFFIX partners involved in this event who presented to the meeting were USFD, DIAD, CRF, AVIO and WZL
